Verbatim connects new desktop hard drives with SuperSpeed USB 3.0

USB 3.0 heralds the dawn of a new standard for external hard drives, and Verbatim has now installed it in its new desktop hard drives. USB 3.0 delivers bus speeds of up to 4.8Gbit/sec – a ten-fold increase in performance compared to existing USB 2.0 connections – making it ideal for both home and office-based users who want to transfer large files with the newest and quickest technology available. The Verbatim USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive comes with the option of an included PCIe card for seamless USB 3.0 connectivity and will be available in stores mid October.

Available as an option, Verbatim’s new USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive can come bundled with a PCIe card to allow consumers who do not have a USB 3.0 port on their computer to still benefit from the 10-fold increase in speed of USB3.0. The drive is 202mm x 114mm x 40mm in size, weighs approximately 1kg and comes with a 24 month guarantee.

Software for Back-ups, Burning and Energy Saving
Included on the Desktop USB3.0 hard drives are two software packages.Nero BackItUp and Burn Essentials, which combines three important functions in just one piece of software: as well as regularly backing-up all files and folders users can also burn photos, videos or other data content onto CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc, and recover damaged files with Nero RescueAgent.
