Verbatim has a number of specific measures in place to reduce the impact that our company and products have on the environment. With our energy-efficient policies and the use of environmentally-friendly materials in our manufacturing and packaging, we continue to find ways to increase the sustainability of our products.
Key Focus Initiatives
Products & Packaging
- Remove plastics from packaging: All new product packaging will be plastic free
- Redesign existing packaging to be paper where possible
- Use recycled packaging materials where possible
- Introducing eco range made with recycled and/or biodegradable materials
- Reduce the amount of overall packaging where possible- smaller packaging means fewer shipments
Warehouse & Logistics
- Switch to recycled and recyclable cardboard for transport of orders
- Focus on recyclable waste sorting
- Supply-chain traceability
- LED high-bay lighting through warehouse
- Focus on logistics partners that can provide low-emission trucks; carbon neutral shipping services
Office & Internal Processes
- Utilise recycling waste containers in lunchrooms & office
- Switch to solar panels for office power
- Office fitted out with LED Lighting
- Offering hybrid work for staff & extend video conferencing services- reduce the environmental impact of traveling everyday for work and internal meetings
- More plants in the office to improve air quality and oxygen production
- Remove high-energy consuming in-house servers
- Switch to paperless operation in certain processes
- Explore sustainable substitution of office stationery and corporate communication tools

As part of Verbatim Australia’s commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility, we are active members of the following associations and have agreed to reach key targets in the future.
SEDEX
We recognise that there are a number of different legal frameworks and cultural environments that our suppliers operate in globally & that we need to continuously engage with and monitor our suppliers. This means we undertake due diligence activities to identify, prevent and mitigate any adverse human rights impacts of our operations.

As a SEDEX member organisation, we are deeply committed to being a responsible supplier and ensuring the human rights of all workers in our operations and supply chains are protected.
- Our Ethical Sourcing Policy encompasses comprehensive criteria on upholding human rights, anti-corruption, labour rights, fair and safe working conditions, and environmental compliance.
Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO)
As a Member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) & a Signatory to the Covenant, we are wholly committed to meeting our regulatory obligations, and agree to measure, track and constantly improve sustainable packaging performance & increase packaging sustainability within our business and along the entire supply chain – from design to distribution, retail and recovery.
Planet ARK
In partnership with Planet Ark, through our membership with the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), we adopted the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) across our product range. The label is aimed at demystifying the confusion around the correct and efficient disposal of packaging materials.
- Understanding what parts of packaging can be recycled will now be easier for consumers. We are committed to taking our environmental and community responsibilities seriously. This is one part of that commitment to minimise our impact on the environment and encourage recycling.
- When we dispose of our waste correctly, we keep contamination out of the recycling stream and recyclable material away from landfill.
