Verbatim’s Commitment to Ethical Sourcing & Sustainable Practices
Why choosing Verbatim means choosing a more responsible future.
At Verbatim, we believe that sustainability and corporate responsibility are not just talking points – they are actions that shape every decision we make. Our membership in leading industry associations ensures our products are sourced and packaged with care for people and the planet.
Below are two key partnerships that demonstrate how we go above and beyond to meet the ethical and environmental expectations of our customers.

About SEDEX
SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is a global, not-for-profit membership organisation that supports responsible and ethical business practices across supply chains. Through its secure online platform, SEDEX enables companies to share data on labour standards, health and safety, environmental performance, and business ethics. By promoting transparency and accountability, it helps ensure fair treatment of workers and supports sustainable sourcing practices worldwide.
Verbatim’s Commitment
Through SEDEX and equivalent recognised programs, we:
- Connect suppliers and customers to share verified ethical trade information.
- Undergo independent SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessments, or accept equivalent third-party ethical audits from accredited bodies such as BSI, Amfori, or RBA.
- Require all suppliers to provide valid, independent ethical audit reports, without exception.
- Expect every supplier to maintain internationally recognised management certifications such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and/or ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
The Verbatim Difference
The vast majority of our technology suppliers are active members of SEDEX, with the remainder meeting equivalent high standards through other globally recognised audit programs. This ensures that every product we source is backed by robust social compliance, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices, giving our customers complete confidence in the integrity of our supply chain.
About APCO
The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) is a co-regulatory, not-for-profit organisation leading the transition to a circular economy for packaging in Australia. By working with business, government, and industry, APCO sets national targets to ensure all packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Its Sustainable Packaging Guidelines (SPGs) and the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) help businesses design packaging that reduces waste and supports responsible disposal.

Verbatim’s Commitment & Results
As an active APCO member, Verbatim has embedded sustainability into every stage of our packaging design process. By 2025, we have:
- Fully aligned our packaging design process with APCO’s Sustainable Packaging Guidelines.
- Applied the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) to the vast majority of our product range, improving recycling clarity for consumers.
- Achieved 100% plastic-free packaging for all newly launched products.
- Removed soft plastics from our packaging across the business.
- Transitioned most packaging to FSC-certified cardboard and paperboard formats.
- Significantly increased the proportion of recyclable and responsibly sourced materials year-on-year.
The Verbatim Difference
Our packaging goes beyond compliance -it delivers real environmental benefits. Customers can be confident they are choosing products designed for recyclability, free from unnecessary plastics, and contributing to a more circular economy.
Why This Matters For You
By partnering with Verbatim, you’re choosing a supplier that:
- Meets internationally recognised ethical sourcing and environmental management standards.
